Futatsu by sake-bento Futatsu by sake-bento
A shared lunch for my sister and her friend. Her friend is vegetarian, so this lunch is meat free. It also has more of a Mediterranean flavor than traditional Japanese.

-Couscous with feta cheese and olives
-Humus with red pepper
-Rice balls with red sauce filling
-Hard-boiled egg (Closeup here: [link])
-Apples, strawberries, blueberries, cherries

Where do you get a rice mold? Better yet, how do you make a bento box? I love the look of them and they sound like they taste good as well, but I've never had an actual bento box.

I buy my supplies from different places. Sometimes online. Sometimes in Japan. Sometimes from Japanese stores in the U.S. I'll be uploading a site pretty soon that sells relatively cheap bento and accessories. Do you want me to let you know when it's up?

I used a rice mold. I filled it halfway with rice, added sauce, and put more rice on top.

I think I used teriyaki sauce for these. You can put whatever you think tastes good with rice, though. Lots of people like to pick in pickled vegetables.

in my culture we only eat curries with rice. like in our curries one of the most famous ones; we put processed Italian parsley, mint, and etc leafs and red kidney beans with big brown dried lemons and let them boil with beef or chicken, it's called ghorme sabzi meaning gourmet leafs and it looks green. Also the smell of this one goes EVERY WHERE!

one thing i like about some Asian dishes is that they have no smell you'd try get outta your hair and clothes for days lol
