Tutorial - Thanksgiving Cake by sake-bento Tutorial - Thanksgiving Cake by sake-bento
2 1/2 c. Flour
2 1/4 c. Sugar
3 Large Eggs
1 tsp. Vanilla
1 c. Vegetable Oil
1 15 oz. Can Pumpkin
1 1/2 tsp. Cinnamon
1 pt. Heavy Whipping Cream
1 1/2 c. Chocolate Chips

You won't use everything for the cake. The rest is for the whipped cream topping which I will talk about later. So make sure to check the actual instructions when measuring out things into the cake. ::nodnod::

This is my first Thanksgiving food experiment. A pumpkin and chocolate chip marbled/blobby cake. It turned out surprisingly good for a first try and a recipe made up as I went along. >.>

Tanks for the recipe! I just baked it last night, and have to say... its really yummy!!!!
Anyway, I screwed the frosting up T3T I tink it was because I made the pure...It tasted good, but were too liquid, so we just dipped the cake on it XD
And again thaks!!! I will bake it again some time later.

How long it takes to make the cake and frosting? Look delicious! =)

Like half an hour to bake the cake, and about the same to whip the cake.

ooo wow that looks amazing.. mind you I'm partial to changing the pumpkin to something else since I'm not really a fan of pumpkin... any suggestions?

but yay! you should totally post more tutorials!

Hmm...I imagine apple sauce would yield similar results. I'd use a little bit less, since the consistency is somewhat runnier. You'll also get a more crumbly cake than a heavy cake like this one. I can't imagine it not being tasty, though.

ooooo sounds yummy! That kinda reminds me of the time I replaced... ah I think it was most of the butter in my chcolate chip cookie recipe with applesauce... oh man those were tasty... kinda more like cake-cookies then the flat ones I make but man oh man... XD

Oh man, that looks delicious ;w;
if I had pumpkin here, I'd totally have to try to make that >w>
I gotta ask-- did you use can puree or make your own?
sake-bento Featured By Owner Nov 19, 2007  Hobbyist Artisan Crafter
Can. ^_^;; I'm a cheater...
RottenDeadpan Featured By Owner Nov 19, 2007
well it's easier to just use can products (and so helpful during off-season times >w>;; ) so I dunno if it's considered cheating XD <3
